New Generation Events Staffing

Looking after the new recruits and applicants to Beautiful Minds Promotions events staffing books whilst Emma was away on her honeymoon gave me ample opportunity to revisit the angle we have always so valiantly described our staff as: "Staff that look great and sound better"

Was this still the case? Were we still as selective as we hoped and was the standard of events staffing applicants continuing to rise or had we hit our peak?

Looking at all new staff applicants had always been my role until Emma joined the team and showed a gifted knowledge and flair in spotting real talent in the events staffing industry. In short recruiting new event staff for the books became Emma's key role and she has bought in some outstanding new Brand Ambassadors, Event Managers and Entertainers.

So off she flew for 2 weeks in the sun and I had in essence "got my baby back". It was now my chance to look through our new recruits, sift through the 100's of applicants and really see the standard currently out there on the circuit.

I WAS BLOWN AWAY!

Promotional staffing has seen a dramatic increase in the past few years with talented, sociable and resourceful individuals magnetised by the pull of flexibility, good pay and diversity events staffing, road shows and exhibition work has to offer. However I wasn't quite prepared for the standard that appeared before my very eyes.

I had planned to spend a few hours that day short listing a few Brand Ambassadors that met our standards that could be trialled for future assignments only to find I was gripped for the whole day reading excellently written applications, funny anecdotes, witty emails, incredible CV's with relevant and up to date experience and ended up with an incredible list of new recruits. I was suddenly dying to get these people out working and see how they performed. A quick phone call normally separates those who can write a good script from those who really do have "exceptional interpersonal skills" and there I was again gobsmacked as each and every one chatted away confidently and eloquently showing real knowledge of Brand Experience and Promotional Marketing. I was delighted and felt the standard out there is higher than ever before.

This is good news and bad news for existing promotional staff, the competition is hotting up, the bar has been quite significantly raised and the mediocre will just not cut the mustard. Exceptional events staffing is now the focus and our clients and brands are in for a real treat.
